Southern Water have pumped sewage into Langstone Harbour in Portsmouth for 49 hours straight. This is not the first time and unless something is done it will not be the last. 

This beautiful part of the world is home to thousands of species including seals, fish and seabirds. The discharge of sewage into this SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest which means it SHOULD be protected) is causing damage to the amphipods (types of crustaceans) their reproduction rate is affected, causing potentially permanent damage to these species, important food sources for many of the wading birds. 

This comes after Southern Water vowed to reduce the number of sewage overflows by 80 per cent only a month ago.

I am a Marine Ecology and Conservation student and live just 5 minutes walk from this crucial marine habitat.
