Dear Portland Trail Blazers,

Let us start this by thanking you for your continued hospitality and kindness towards NBA Legend Carmelo Anthony. In a time where everyone turned a blind eye to one of the game's best scorers ever, you embraced him like we never thought imaginable after the Houston situation.

We also look forward to this upcoming NBA season as Neil Olshey and the rest of the front office has put together a formidable team that can compete in this tough Western Conference.

We're reaching out to you in hopes that you'll allow Carmelo Anthony to wear the Number 7 on his uniform for your great organization.

We're not ignorant to the fact that the great Brandon Roy once donned that number during his Trail Blazer days and absolutely want to acknowledge his greatness with the franchise. Anyone who makes the All-Star team in 3 out of his first 4 seasons in the league, hits numerous clutch shots and puts the city of Portland on his back is someone that has our respect.

With all that being said, we noticed that the number hasn't been retired yet and believe Carmelo Anthony would be a legitimate candidate to carry on Brandon's legacy. This man is a 10-time All-Star, Scoring Champion, All-NBA player, Olympic Gold Medalist, NCAA Champion and now authentic Trail Blazer.

When Melo joined New York and couldn't wear the number 15, he chose 7 for a multitude of reasons but primarily because it's his son's birthday. The number 7 and Mr. Anthony became synonymous once the (now trademarked) #STAYME7O hashtag emerged and it just hasn't felt right typing out #STAYME7O while he wears the number 00.

We hope you think about this as Carmelo, fans and users of the #STAYME7O hashtag everywhere will be thrilled to see Number 7 back out on the court.
