You have a voice in helping to maintain oversight on the Portland Water Bureau this election. The City of Portlands Measure 26-219 requests the "(Shall) Charter (city law) allow Water Fund (PWB) to finance "incidental" public uses of certain Water Bureau lands, and explicitly authorizes these uses (without oversight)".
If measure 26-219 passes, it authorizes PWB to spend monies on ANY undefined general uses. WOW! This becomes an open checkbook, as the Portland Water Burea can raise rates and spend those funds without limits! These expenditures can and will be made through your water rates, and you will have given away any oversight through the "charter" to hold them accountable.
Please VOTE NO! on Measure 26-219
