Earlier this year, the Pooler City Council voted to allow the developer to proceed with their project. While there was some concession for additional foliage, there will be more offices built on the land. In fact, just a few weeks ago, the trees started coming down on this property. I am reminded daily as I drive by this new development how easy it is to take green space for granted.
Because of issues like green space, and other major infrastructure challenges, I decided to put myself into the race to run for Pooler City Council. I believe we can and should be more responsible with our natural resources. We also must address our major infrastructure issues (like traffic and drainage) before moving forward on more development in our city.
I hope you can support me and my fellow candidates (Karen Williams & Tom Hutcherson) in our campaign to create a solid plan for Pooler's development. I chose this city to raise my family, but I am afraid for what situations we're currently creating for ourselves years down the line. It may be too late to save these trees along N. Godley Station, but it doesn't have to be too late to save our future.
