Back Kingdom - An App to Protect Communities from Police Brutality

The Issue

The catalyst for the creation of Kingdom was the brutal murder of George Floyd by four police officers on May 25, 2020.  George Floyd, a black man, living in a country steeped in systemic racism reflected in the police brutality, harassment, racial profiling and murders of black and brown American citizens at the hands of those who were hired to protect and serve them – law enforcement.  The main drive of Kingdom is to provide safety and protection for all American citizens; however, this app is created specifically to protect citizens against police brutality and racially motivated crimes against our black and brown brothers and sisters.

In order for Kingdom to be carried forth with the intention it serves, three components must happen.  Just as our government has three branches of checks and balances, so will those that assemble and run the components of the app.  They will be adherent to a system of checks and balances under the watchful eye of the people.

The Kingdom proposal is put forth petitioning politicians, social justice groups, law enforcement leadership, community leaders and those that will sponsor and support creating Kingdom models across the United States.  In order for this app to be successful, all parts that play an integral role in the problem must be leaders in the solution.
