We have all recently witnessed the terrible tragedy befalling Australia right now. With so far 24 people killed, an estimated 480 million animals dead, and approximately 14.6 million acres devastated.

Australia stood with us through two world wars and so many making the ultimate sacrifice. This is the UK’s chance to stand with our friends and allies in their time of need.

I call on our government to debate sending out part of our foreign aid to Australia to assist where necessary and to help rebuild a country ravaged by fire.

I had hoped to have started a government petition but they have not been restarted since the recent election. As generous as the general public are of this nation, I don’t think it should just be left to them to dig deep, although I know they have already done so.

I know our Foreign aid goes to some deserving places but some not quite so.
