7 December 2021: Gunman dies after being shot by police as hostages freed in Sunnybank Hills siege drama.
An alleged gunman shot dead by police after a six-hour standoff last night has been identified as 48-year-old Peter Pilkington. Mr Pilkington is accused of storming a business on Compton Road in the Brisbane suburb of Stretton about 1.20pm yesterday.

1 January 2022: Sunnybank Hills home damaged in early morning fire
Four fire crews were called in to battle a fierce blaze at a Brisbane home early on Saturday morning. A police spokeswoman said authorities were called to the Bradman St, Sunnybank Hills house about 5.33am, which was “well alight and close to bushland”.

8 February 2022: Serious Injury Crash, Sunnybank Hills
Police have released vision of a break and enter they believe may be linked to a single vehicle crash in Sunnybank Hills last night. 18 February 2022: Renewed public appeal for missing Sunnybank man
Police are renewing a public appeal to help locate missing Sunnybank man Joshua Mou, who has not been heard from since mid-January, despite police coordinating searches in the Carindale area earlier this month.

Police have charged a man and a girl following an alleged robbery in Sunnybank overnight (February 20).

22 February 2022: Attempted robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle charges, Sunnybank
Police have charged two men following the alleged attempted robbery of a woman in Sunnybank yesterday. It will be alleged around 1:20pm the pair were driving around the carpark of a shopping centre on Mains Road, Sunnybank in a stolen Kia.

18 April 2022: Man charged after claiming to be learner driver, allegedly attempting to abduct woman
A Queensland man has been hit with several charges after allegedly hatching a plot to abduct a woman known to him. Police allege the 24-year-old man from Sunnybank Hills, Brisbane, claimed to be a learner driver, booking a driving lesson from an Acacia Ridge address yesterday.
9 June 2022: Shots fired, Sunnybank Hills
Police are investigating after multiple shots were fired into a house at Sunnybank Hills this morning. Around 4am police were called to Goorong Street after reports of loud noises and vehicles driving off at speed. Then, shortly before 7am officers were called back to a property on Goorong Street, where at least five shots were discovered discharged into the house. The bullets went through the front windows and into the house.

14 June 2022: Trafficker jailed as cops uncover $37k meth stash in Sunnybank
A convicted Brisbane drug trafficker has returned to court after cops uncovered a meth stash estimated to be worth over $37,000 at his home in Sunnybank Hills.
9 August 2022: Homicide investigation, Stretton
Acacia Ridge CIB and Homicide Unit detectives are appealing to the public for information as part of Operation Uniform Bolar, the investigation into the alleged murder of two people at Stretton in the early hours of Monday, August 8. It will be alleged police were called to a Coolidge Court property at approximately 9.40am, where a woman in her 40s and man in his 20s were located deceased.

11 August 2022: ‘Fat b**ch’: Grim details of drunken dad’s ‘sickening’ assault by Sunnybank Hills man.
A Brisbane dad has told a court alcohol is now a “big no go” for him after a shocking assault on a woman, where he tried to push her out of a moving car while drunk. Sunnybank Hills man Josh Nikkolas Lakatani, 30, appeared in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday, August 10 and pleaded guilty to one count of common assault.
15 August 2022: Grievous Bodily Harm charges, Sunnybank Hills
Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branch detectives have charged a man with grievous bodily harm following the alleged assault of another man in Sunnybank Hills overnight, Sunday August 14. Around 11pm police were called to a disturbance on Gowan Road, where it will be alleged two men had a verbal dispute about a noise complaint. It will be further alleged the verbal dispute quickly became physical, with one man allegedly swinging a golf club at another man, striking him in the face, causing him to sustain significant lacerations.

23 August 2022: Grievous bodily harm, Sunnybank
Mount Gravatt detectives are appealing for public assistance to help identify two men who assaulted and robbed a 38-year-old man at Sunnybank on Saturday, August 20. The men asked for money before punching and kicking the victim, leaving him unconscious with serious facial injuries.

2 September 2022: Inala resident, Arshdeep Singh Bhinder, in court for grievous bodily harm charge in Sunnybank Hills.
Inala resident, Arshdeep Singh Bhinder, was charged on August 14 this year after allegedly striking a man in the face with a golf club on Gowan Rd in Sunnybank. According to police, the 88-year-old man, originally from India, was alleged to have engaged in a verbal argument with another man around 11pm that night over a noise complaint, before things became violent.
