Almost a year ago, our son, Luke Gilbert, was shot and killed by two police officers while simply walking to a pub in Airlie Beach, Queensland. Imagine losing your child and then having to fight tooth and nail just to get the truth. We urgently need your support to demand an independent inquiry into Luke's death.

Since that fateful day, we have been navigating a "criminal justice" system that seems more interested in protecting its own than delivering justice. The recent coronial inquest into Luke's death was nothing short of a character assassination. They scrutinized his past mental health issues and even his tattoos while ignoring key witnesses and evidence. Your support can help us change the narrative and hold the authorities accountable.
We are not alone in this fight. Data analysis by ABC 7.30 reveals that Queensland Police shot more people last year than police in the rest of Australia combined. We need accountability from law enforcement agencies. That’s why we are backing The Civil Liberties Council's calls for a review of the underlying causes of these police shootings.
