Our son Luke was shot and killed by police 1 year ago on 1st October 2022…with police investigating police and an inquest being held without all the evidence being made available there has been NO POLICE ACCOUNTABILITY!

When you read that an investigation into the shooting will be carried out it is not true, It is an investigation into the victim...There is no independent criminal investigation undertaken when police kill a citizen.

We are continuing to call for an independent inquiry into Luke’s death at the hands of 2 Whitsunday police officers who we believe are still patrolling the same party precinct with guns.

Recently the National Justice Project has called for a Royal Commission into Australia’s police use of lethal force after a string of police killings, although we don't believe Luke's killing was Mental health related, we welcome any scrutiny of those responsible.

The CCTV and BWCF have been denied public release despite us agreeing to it being made public. We believe it is in the public’s interest to see what the police are being allowed to get away with so we are sharing a short clip that a member of the local community took and sent to us in the interests of justice as it clearly shows that our son was not doing anything when they fired 5 bullets at him…

There is evidence we cannot share as we are silenced by the Coroners Act and if there is an independent inquiry into Luke’s killing all this evidence will come out.
