La lucha continúa/ The fight continues
La Acción de Protección fue negada después de 3 días de audiencias donde se presentaron todas las razones para mantener al Río Piatua INTACTO en su estado natural. El juez falló a favor de la empresa encargada de la construcción del proyecto hidroeléctrico que pretende tomar el 90% del caudal del río y transformarlo en 30 MW aproximadamente, argumentando que los derechos de la naturaleza y los de las poblaciones indígenas que consideran al río Piatúa su territorio ancestral, no fueron violentados.
Esta decisión fue apelada y tenemos la oportunidad de defender al Río Piatúa una vez más. La audiencia a favor de mantener el Río Piatúa INTACTO empieza este 20 de agosto a las 8:30 am en el complejo judicial de Pastaza en Puyo.
Ojalá nos puedan acompañar y si no lo mejor que podemos hacer es seguir compartiendo, seguir firmando, seguir en la lucha por un PIATÚA LIBRE!!!

After 3 days of hearings the lawsuit in favor of preserving the Piatúa river INTACT was denied. The judge ruled in favor of the company in charge of the construction of the hydroelectric project that intends to take 90% of the water to create around 30 MW and then return the water to another river, disturbing the habitat of endemic flora and fauna, the ecological connection and the traditional and tourist uses of the river.
This decision has been appealed and we have again the opportunity to defend the Piatúa. The second instance hearings start tuesday the 20th of August 8:30 am in Puyo.
