Twenty two year old female Doctor stabbed to death by a drunkard accused criminal brought to the emergency by police. It happened in the presence of five Police personel. And the Health Minister of Kerala says that the doctor was inexperienced and couldn’t escape.

Dr Vandana Das lost her life at Kottarakkara government taluk hospital at Kollam district of Kerela in India due to the gross failure of the healthcare system to protect its healthcare workforce.

The doctor has lost her life due to the inadequate and impotent system that has never shown the slightest intent to protect the doctor.

It is high time security of doctors is enhanced. But a greater campaign is needed to repair the mentality of the ministers,  bureaucrats and general public at large who find an easy scapegoat in doctor to blame all the fault on for any failure in healthcare system. 

The choice is ours. 

Either we accept it as our fate to be abused, kicked , slapped, manhandled, hit with chairs and iron rods and stabbed for being doctors and nurses in India. 

Or we finallly say, Enough is Enough.
