Elderly doctors brutally assaulted by patient relatives leading to multiple fractures, scalp lacerations, ear laceration and bleeding. But the trauma to the will-to-serve was the most damaging.

Another attack on doctors yesterday evening 20th June, at Rinchi Hospital Ranchi. Dr A. K. Singh medical superintendent has multiple fractures, Dr Om Prakash Mahansaria Dr S. K. Sinha having lacerations. Dr Nijam having scalp lacerations. Media reporting doctors beat public. Case is that they brought a dead body from patrata dam (which is 40 km away) to Rinchi Trust Hospital Ranchi in the evening of 20th June (tomorrow). Dr A. K. Singh, 60 plus age, working as MS immediately attended the patient and declared him brought dead. The people who brought the body immediately ran away. Then the relatives arrived and started started shouting how he died and who brought him. When the MS told them that we don't know who brought him they started beating him. He has fracture of humerus (shoulder) and talus (foot). When Dr Mahansaria was informed he came out and confronted the relatives. He too was assaulted and has laceration in his ear with ear bleeding. They also assaulted other doctors present there namely Dr S. K. Sinha very senior retired doctor (age 70 around) dragging him on the floor. Duty doctor Nijam has scalp lacerations. Many staff and nurses injured. On SOS message on IMA group a few of us rushed. We somehow sneaked in to find doctors and nurses hiding whenever they could. We shifted the injured doctors to OT and did primary suturing and other primary treatment. The mob continued to surround the hospital. Police were mere spectators.
