Petition updatePeople assaulting Doctors should be punished like TerroristsDr Paribaha is stable but may have suffered long term damage
Dr Sumit PeriwalGangtok, India
Jun 19, 2019

As per reports from a friend in Kolkata, Dr Paribaha is clinically stable but he has disturbed sleep and occasionally nightmares. He has difficulty controlling his anger and has altered behaviour.

This may be due to his head injury or due to post traumatic stress. When the people you serve, brutally and mercilessly assault you with hatred and intent to kill, the trauma it causes is beyond treatment.

He will carry the scars of the injury forever. So will we, the doctors of this country.

Every assault on a fellow doctor etches deep scars on the will-to-serve of the doctors. The time is not far when the scars will be so deep that the will-to-serve will be damaged beyond repair.

Let us hope that good sense of the government, administration and, most importantly, the people of this country prevails.

Remember Dr Paribaha.
