A very unfortunate event occurred today in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital on 13th April 2019.
A patient was admitted today in Medicine Ward with Pneumonia , Sepsis and Heart Failure . Unfortunately he had cardiac arrest at 5:30 pm . As per protocol , he was given Atropine and Adrenaline injection , but soon afterwards , he expired . As his death was declared by an intern - Bhaskar Roy , the party got violent .
A Lady intern was said : ডাক্তারি পেছনে গুঁজে দেব
The party also literally assaulted and abused Bhaskar and said : injection দিয়ে patient কে মেরে ফেললো

Such type of incidents are nothing new in our state since last 2 years with over 200 reported events of physical violence inflicted upon doctors, while the perpetrators have not faced any legal consequences. We appeal to all the Medical Fraternity and also the General Public to come together and protest against this heinous incident .
The doctors are already sitting in protest outside our MSVP office and they are determined to continue protest until an action is taken .
