Subject: Assault on Doctor by OC of Jadavpur PS

Respected Madam ,
Hope you know by this time that Officer in Charge of Jadavpur Police Station Mr Pulak Dutta has physically assaulted an on Duty Doctor of CMRI today inside the Hospital.

Madam, it is perhaps the most unfortunate incident that a Govt Police Officer who is supposed to provide protection & safety , has himself got involved in hooliganism and assaulted brutally a Doctor who went to take his history & to treat him.

Madam , when you are openly announcing that assaults on Doctors & hooliganism in Health Institutions would not be tolerated & sending floral greetings on Doctors' Day, your Police Officer is assaulting Doctors & maligning & disgracing the image of State Govt.

Though we believe that all Police persons are not like Pulak Dutta & we also believe that you are very much concerned about the safety & security of our Medical Profession, at the same time we think stringent actions should be taken against such person.

So, we, the members of Indian Medical Association sincerely urge upon you to arrest this Police Officer immediately under non bailable sections, as other wise Doctors will have no faith on the Police Officers & they might go for further agitation.

Moreover we also can decide that no Doctor will treat any Police person.

Hope you will be kind enough to take steps & oblige.
