Justice for Teaching Faculties who are being exploited without proper salary

The Issue

This is to bring to your knowledge, the plight of the staff of GD Goenka University, as since March 2020, the faculties and staff have not been paid their salaries. The university has only paid 30 to 40 % payment of  the month of March and April  and after getting all their work done they are saying we will pay only 67% salary from Previous month onward.

It is sad to state that the universities collect their entire fess at the beginning of the semester which is their budget for running an entire semester plus of course huge profit yet since March 2020, the staff of the above-mentioned university is forced to stay without salary which has been paid in small fractions and this has pushed the majority of them into financial crisis and depression whereas the management is least bothered about it.

They have collected all the fees yet finding excuses not to pay as they feel they can use this situation to earn extra profit by denying the dues to their staff.
What is most unfortunate is that no government authority is concerned about the plight of the teachers and this shows that in this country there is no importance of education as unless the teaching staff is happy, how can they provide their best to the student?

Also, it is a fact that these private universities earn crores of money at the beginning of the semester, and what is the amount they pay is just a fraction of their earning, yet they are trying to find all way out to delay salary.

The Government is least bothered about the condition of the staff of the university. Yet it is a humble request that the authorities take strict action on this and ensure that the universities pay their staff their full salaries along with their dues and do not terminate them on some or other excuse.

GD Goenka is not a small company or industry that is dependent on production rather it is an educational institution that has already collected the entire fees and more so their running cost is also saved due to lockdown and all the staff have been working for them hard.
