PMO, shame on punishing Bangalore by derailing critical suburban rail project

#SuburbanRail can quickly take a minimum of 10 lakh rides per day off the roads. Imagine the impact on traffic . It’s the single largest hope to solve our traffic woes.
Now the PMO has shockingly decided to go back on it’s commitment of Suburban Rail on a whim , causing Bangalore citizens &!its children untold damage to its health & basic rights . We have been agitating for this for years , knowing this is our only sustainable, cost effective and future proof solution to our traffic woes. It needs to be done .
Why has Bengaluru been denied suburban train for more than 33 years when Mumbai, Chennai had them for nearly 100 years and even Hyderabad got it 15 years ago? So Bangalore citizens are mere pawns in the political chess game . They have seen no reason to push this given its a cusp of Railways/center/state . And mainly ‘I don’t care. No money in MY bank!’ . The State dragged its feet, citizens rose after #SteelFlyoverBeda , Center promised, citizens breathed & NOW they withdraw ! Is this who we are to Delhi capital ? This is such devious , anti Bangalore spite - centrist , arbitrary & mean. Time wasted - and we don’t have time ! A few things we Citizens should think about;
Is the State Government, lobby groups opposed to the growth of cheap public transport?
Center is doing this to harass Bangalore because we are not same party at center. Clearly true . Else why is a pre election March 19 decision being communicated now ? To affect our vote? Election commission to be alerted ?
Shall we citizens of Bengaluru DIE horribly of smoke , pollution , mental health issues enabled by city’s impossible traffic, and cruelly shrugged off by state n central Govts? Why ?
Imply that the benefit to nation’s most visible gem, IT revenue, Bangalore and citizen convenience has no impact /interest to them .
Media ; ‘Center punishes Bangalore Citizens’ . ‘After years of waiting, spitefully slaps Bangaloreans on the move’ ‘Pushes city down a traffic nightmare forever. ‘ Center determined to wreck city economy & mind’
Our city MPs should fight as one . Blr Central MP PC Mohan must represent this aggressively - given his genuine attempts in the past. We need to hold accountable all the Bangalore MPs like Rajeev Gowda , Nirmala Sitharaman Rajeev Chandrashekar et al why - was this issue so neglected?
We will have a sit in/protest at local railway head quarters here - & accuse them of stepmothely attitude to city
The density/outlying argument PMO has used is flimsy. No one seems to be clear about a suburban system when we have role models operating in Mumbai and Chennai, which between them ferry 1 crore passengers daily. FYI 70% of suburban services in Mumbai and 85% in Chennai cover just 50kms.
Do a quick comparison. As to how they have favored other aligned states in the past .
Go for the jugular on this one
Bangalore Citizens have had ENOUGH . We are so decent . We begged, cajoled , stated and respectfully waited for suburban rail . We did it right . Citizens must rise and take charge of its Transport. If you guys dont do it , we will find a way.
The fight has to be for Bangalore , it’s Citizens it’s future generations . What city are we leaving our children ? How much must we fight for our survival ? Seriously. And why is our common good so uphill? Because we are Bangalore? Are we going to stand for that ?
