A Government Support for troubled fresher dentists of Rs. 25000/- a month for 5 years.

Sir,

We demand an urgent and  minimum support of Rs.25000/-( Twenty five thousand Rupees) per month for fresher dentists for a period of 5 years and a reduction of dental seats by 70%. Obviously, Dental Councils have failed miserably in doing their job and other bodies are more committed to camaraderie it seems.

Almost 70,000 or more of these dentists are working at a salary less than Rs. 17000( Seventeen Thousand Rupees) per month even four years after passing out and even if working in Premier Clinics.

Government after Government chooses to close their eyes on plight of fresher dentists with no job or a job with extremely low income that they find it very difficult to continue gracefully in a noble profession of a doctor. Obviously calculations of Government opening hundreds of dental colleges has gone horribly wrong. Please Consider:Dental school worldwide: 900
Dental school only in India: 342 as per the DCI data till 2015( includes both govt add private)
Total fresh dental graduate produced by Indian Dental council every year: 37000.
Irony of situation reached to that level where supreme court of India had to intervene in 2015, to declare no more new college will be provided recognition anymore.Total no. Of postgraduate seats every year around 400
Total no of dental vacancy declared by central govt in 2015/16= 23.
probably now you understand, why you see so many Dentists jobless.

Roughly 1.5 lac dentists therefore need this support which will rise to 3 lacs in coming years. The dental college seats if not reduced immediately by 70%, this trend will continue. Almost 90% of these dentists are working at a salary less than Rs. 17000 per month even four years after passing out and even if working in Premier Clinics.
