As we know,Nepal has been struck by a devastating earthquake of M 7.8  with excruciating level of physical damages and loss of human lives which has reached 6,200 by now and it seems to be reaching higher levels with  every passing hour.We need as much help as we can muster and the reaction of the international community has been praiseworthy.India,being our closest neighbour was quick to react to the calamity and was thought to provide great support to the Nepal Army which has a tremendous lack of helicopters for the rescue operation demand.But in the few days that have passed,Indian Airforce in the name of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) support has been more of a show-off than real substantial help.Indian Mi 17 helicopters have been hovering over the Lukla and Rasuwa region with Indian media personnel and extensively searching for Indian citizens and casualties, rescuing a few Nepalese souls in the process and trying to magnify their contribution using the media,which is painting a picture of the devastation as if was it not for India,Nepal would have completely ceased to exist.They are not coordinating with the Nepal Army or the concerned District officials,and their priority has been inspecting the North Border that Nepal shares with China,which is concerning our northern neighbor.  The government has been denying permission to Chinese and other air force support citing "technical reasons".We know how regional geopolitics works in Nepal.But we are a sovereign country.We want foreign relationships based on mutual respect and fairness.We are grateful to anyone and everyone who is helping us in anyway ,but if in the name of rescue,activities like these are continued and genuine rescue operations are hampered,and our national sovereignty is compromised,we can not and will not be mere spectators to the hypocrisy and propaganda.Thank you.
