We, The Zeliangrong people living in Assam, Manipur and Nagaland bring to your notice to express our utter shock and disbelief on the abduction and merciless killing of our community leader, Late Shri Athuan Abonmai, Former President of Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) and Advisor to ZB(AMN) until his death by suspected armed group in operating in Tamenglong district,  Manipur.

 He was abducted from the Polo Ground, Tamenglong District Head Quarters, near the venue of Community Outreach Program attended by Chief Minister and Ministers of Manipur. Later in the evening his dead body was found near Pallong village, not very far from the district head quarters.

 His mortal remains bore marks of brutal torture before he was shot by gun. The peace loving Zeliangrong people is in utter shock and dismay and are deeply angered by the acts of the armed group when the Indo-Naga talk is in full swing on one hand while such reign of terror and merciless killing is going on unchecked and unabated in our territory.

We demand free and fair investigation by NIA. 

All Zeliangrong people living in Northeast India and other parts of India and across the globe join hand today to condemn the abduction, torture and killing of Late Abonmai.
