After another night as a homeless Canadian Veteran suffering through excruciating chronic pain as a documented result of multiple injuries sustained in the service of Canada, I read of another unsavoury 'perk' available to all Members of Parliament. Regardless of party affiliation. Trudeau makes $390000.00, and a starting MP makes $194600.00. If they aren't re-elected or decide not to run, an MP with less than six years in office is entitled to $97300.00 as severance. An MP with more than six years is also entitled to a pension. In addition, they are entitled to 'Transition Support' of $15000.00. Tax dollars they may use for education, professional development, office supplies, long distance calls, four round trips within Canada etc. The grift that keeps giving for a privileged few with connections. This on top of all MP's receiving four pay raises over the last few years, as their constituents were forced to struggle. The same MP's who refuse to provide representation to their constituents in need. They all benefit from maintaining the status quo. Canada needs selfless leaders. Not self-serving, opportunistic, predatory politicians in my opinion.
