The Issue

Dear Ethiopians and people of Ethiopia origin, Medemer In Action (መደመር በተግባር), in collaboration with the Ethiopian diaspora, religious and community organizations, and organizations of diaspora of African origin are petitioning Prime Minister Abiy and the Ethiopian Parliament to make Reverend Jesse Jackson an Honorary Citizen of Ethiopia.

Reverend Jesse Jackson's letter to the US Congressional Black Caucus to pass a Resolution on the Nile River conflict between Ethiopia and Egypt has changed the social psychology of Ethiopians and people of Ethiopian origin. Egypt's 4-page reply to the Reverend's letter shows how much it has perturbed the arrogant Egyptians and put them in the defensive.

The signatory organization of this petition believe the Reverend deserves the honor of being an Honorary Ethiopian Citizen for:

.... being a moral voice for Ethiopia and flag-bearer for Ethiopia's interest on the issue of Nile.

... for his contributions to end Apartheid in South Africa and colonialism in Africa and the Caribbean regions; and

... for his continued campaign to give Africa and the Caribbean region voice in global forums;

We urge you to join us by signing this petition and sharing the petition far and wide, and asking relatives, friends, colleagues and acquaintances to sign it.
