The UK as a whole has endured significant change and challenges as a result of Brexit, the global pandemic and the war in Ukraine, the cumulative effect of which none of us could have planned for.  

The UK fishing industry (catchers and seafood processors) currently faces some significant challenges – excessive operating costs including high fuel prices, intense marine spatial squeeze, increased regulatory burdens, market access issues post-Brexit, lack of crews and concerns around its environmental sustainability credentials.
