Hello all,
338 people have signed this petition. 338 of you have pledged to donate the money you would have spent on Taylor Swift's new album on aid to Palestinians instead.
It's time to fulfil that pledge. Above, I attached a screenshot of my friend And's donation. If you feel comfortable, once you have donated, please send a screenshot of your donation in the amount of $29.99 (the retail price of The Life of a Showgirl) to either MECA, a mutual aid fund, or a Palestinian-led charity of your choosing to ivylear@proton.me.
If you are looking for a personal campaign to support, may I suggest my friend Jaafar's? He is a 24 year old computer engineer who has been displaced from his home and is now facing the impossible choice of whether to "evacuate" to the south of Gaza with his family or stay where he is and risk being bombed.
Ahmed is in a similar situation. Transportation to the south is very expensive, and the area that families could move to is already extremely overcrowded.
Haneen and her family are not currently at risk of being displaced, but she needs a solar panel to help light her tent and charge her phone. Her campaign has not received any support in 8 days. Maybe you can change that?
Gaza is full of stories like these — stories of ordinary people like you and me, who have lost so much and are simply trying to survive. Maybe even if you can't donate, these stories will serve as a reminder of why this campaign exists.
In solidarity and hope,
Ivy
