UPDATE Members of the SAVE MSH Committee met with the CEO, Kate Lee last Friday. Over the past few weeks since the announcement of the proposed closure of Malcolm Sargent House we have gathered 18,528 signatures on an online/and paper petitions. The meeting was positive and Kate Lee stated that CLIC Sargent were open to the idea of a local charity purchasing and taking over the house in the event of CLIC Sargent deciding to close Malcolm Sargent House. The Board of Trustees of CLIC Sargent do not make a decision to next week but we have been told that in the event of closure we will need to be in a position to move forward quickly and provide a substantial deposit. The Committee have been working hard behind the scenes and we are currently trying to set up the most cost effective fundraising way to achieve the initial deposit and costs. We are also in the process of setting up a website to keep everybody updated on progress. We are hoping to have a fundraising page set up as soon as possible to start our journey on securing Malcolm Sargent House in the event that CLIC Sargent decide to close the facility. We are determined it should stay open in Prestwick for specialised respite holidays for children with cancer and their families throughout the UK. We are also in the process of liaising with local business people who are assisting us and providing a forward thinking, secure business plan to be implemented in the event that CLIC Sargent decide to shut. Although this page has been very quiet for the past couple of days, we are working hard behind the scenes and hopefully will get our fundraising page up and running as soon as possible. We are still being inundated with messages of support and we are grateful to every individual and business that supports our campaign. THANK YOU
