Save Salcey Forest Treetop Walk

Save Salcey Forest Treetop Walk
Why this petition matters
Salcey Forest Treetop Walk is being closed, apparently due to neglect it has now become too dangerous to use.
The treetop walk is a large part of our community and hundreds of visitors, families and walkers will now be missing the opportunity to visit the forest for this fantastic addition to Northamptonshires countryside. We would like to urge the Forestry Commission to undertake the relevant repairs required in order to keep this well-loved attraction open.
The Treetop walk has only been open since 2005, and the project was placed first in the Environmental category of the British Construction Industry Awards 2006.
Please sign this to show how much we love this place and we do not want to lose this from Salcey Forest!
The Treetop Walk was opened in 2005 and has been a place of enjoyment and pleasure for thousands of visitors over the years. The walk has apparently now been closed due to neglect and a recent inspection deemed it too dangerous to use.
Within less than an hour of the petition being created, we had close to 200 signatures. Some of the comments left by those signing were heart-breaking. From reading comments about staff who were concerned that they may not have a job come winter. People talking about inclusivity, where families with less abled relatives and friends were able to easily access the walk.
To all my fellow Northamptonshire residents and people who have visited and travelled to come to this fantastic feature right on our doorstep, please, sign this petition and make your voice heard. So many people visit this wonderful place for the Treetop Walk. Its so special to so many people.
Please sign this and help us save this well-loved and valuable asset to our area.
