Itanagar Municipal Commissioner Likha Teji has taken a decision to impound stray animals in the city. 

It is against the law to seize  stray animals from their territory under Section 11(1) (i) and Section 11(1) (j), PCA Act, 1960

Killing  or torturing an animal is a cognizable offence under Section 428 and Section 429 of the Indian Penal Code. The punishment for such an act is rigorous imprisonment  which may extend for up to 2 years or a fine or both

Dogs have every right to live just like us humans and we have no right to kill them
