Woburn Sands is a border town. It is right on the Beds/Bucks border. Woburn Sands has hilly areas which surround the top of our High Street. 

We have had our High Street and resident homes flooded due to the number of blocked drains that sit on the boundary or around the boundary. 

Being a border town leads to confusions as to who should take responsibility for unblocking our drains. This has lead to drains remaining blocked and our High Street vulnerable to flooding during heavy rainfall.

Currently drains are only inspected every 3 years. This does not work in areas that are linked to Woodland where silt and debris comes down hills from Woodland. 

Blake Stephenson MP and Emily Darlington MP are moving our case forward and contacting other Ministers. In addition to this they are contacting the Head of Highways at Central Bedfordshire Council and Milton Keynes City Council and getting them around the table to discuss this issue. 

We welcome residents to sign the petition. We want to protect our town, residents and businesses from further harm from flooding. It is important to us to keep our community safe.
