Victorian Government has announced in 2015-16 Budget, that it'll choose a location to be developed as Indian Cultural Precinct / Hub in Victoria.
By this petition we propose Point Cook or East Werribee in Wyndham City Council to be chosen for the Indian Cultural Precinct in Victoria.
Wyndham's Indian origin population is a large proportion of the local community, in some suburbs getting closer to 11% of population born overseas. It is contributing to the multicultural mix of Melbourne.
Location on M1 on the way to the busiest Victorian tourist route to Great Ocean Road is a major factor to consider.
Indian community adding to multicultural celebrations already with many major festivals being celebrated in this area like Wyndham Diwali and Holi Fest.
Apart from above, there are 3 cricket tournaments in the local community, which is a perfect example of what Indian Community in Wyndham has in its plate for Multiculturalism.
Wyndham is home to Indian Business and Community Clubs too, like Indian Executive Club and Western Gymkhana Club etc.
Wyndham Council has two dynamic Indian origin Councillors too.
Wyndham is the fastest growing council with a good proportion of Indian origin community.
With the precinct in Wyndham, we will make Indian Culture Proud.
