Why this petition matters

HBO Max is an American subscription video on demand service owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. Launched in the United States on May 27, 2020, the service is built around the libraries of HBO, Warner Bros., and their related brands.

In July 2022, HBO Max and it’s owners decided that HBO Max and Discovery+ merge into one streaming service. Discovery+ claims to cancel all scripted shows and renew all unscripted shows. This discussion has fans wondering will their favorite TV series be cancelled.

Jason Kilar, the former Hulu and Amazon executive who has led WarnerMedia as CEO since May 2020, which is when HBO Max was released, has formalized plans to exit the company on the eve of its merger with Discovery. He is not the only one who is leaving ahead of the two streaming services merging. Add HBO Max head Andy Forssell to the list of exiting executives.

As for that remark about content being removed, that’s not idle speculation — it’s already happening. Warner removed six streaming-only movies from HBO Max recently, including Seth Rogen’s An American Pickle and Melissa McCarthy’s Superintelligence. Stunningly, Warner also canceled the release of Batgirl last week. That movie had been shot and was in post-production with a budget of $90 million before Warner decided it wouldn’t be seen by anyone.

I am calling everyone that has their favorites on HBO Max either if their series has gotten a confirmed cancellation or is suspected to be cancelled before the merging date.
