I’m am writing this petition in regards to a  property here in Seminole off hunting club road  that inhabits gopher tortoises a federally protected endangered species that is going extinct due to habitat loss. I am asking for our community to come together and save their land from new development. I will further provide written statements from myself and local neighbors of mine that have encountered them along with some pictures of their burrows the Alabama wildlife federation has been notified and will be evaluating this matter shortly but it’s possible for them to relocate them instead of protecting the land they’ve inhabited for generations the land being developed we believe is breeding grounds as we have seen young and adult gopher tortoises crossing into this land every spring and summer I am asking for your signature to protect them and their habitat from further disturbances.
