TOLONG SELAMATKAN HUTAN ULU BELAGA!

Kawasan hutan dan sungai di Ulu Belaga merupakan satu-satunya punca air dan hutan yang masih asli di kawasan Long Urun, Belaga setelah peladangan sawit dilakukan di kawasan ini. Sehingga sekarang, ikan Tengadak, Semah dan Empurau masih lagi boleh didapati di sungai ini. Selain itu, hutan ini juga memberikan sumber hutan seperti rotan, kayu, ubat tradisional dan umbut bagi komuniti di kawasan ini. 

Namun demikian, kerisauan mulai timbul dalam kalangan penduduk Long Urun apabila syarikat ladang mulai untuk mengeksplorasi kawasan hutan tersebut untuk peladangan sawit berskala besar. Semestinya aktiviti seperti ini akan mengganggu keseimbangan ekosistem, menghapuskan sumber hutan dan memusnahkan keindahan hutan asli di Ulu Belaga. 

Oleh yang demikian, kami ingin memohon jasa baik pihak ladang untuk mempertimbangkan permohonan untuk tidak mengusahakan kawasan hutan Ulu Belaga ini dimana pemeliharaan hutan juga selaras dengan objektif global yang lebih luas yang bertujuan untuk mengurangkan kesan perubahan iklim dan melestarikan habitat semulajadi. 

Dengan mengekalkan ekosistem yang murni ini, kami percaya hutan Ulu Belaga dapat menyumbang kepada usaha global dalam penyerapan karbon dan pemeliharaan kepelbagaian biologi, dengan demikian menjamin masa depan yang mampan untuk generasi akan datang.

Dengan itu, kami ingin memohon pihak tertentu untuk membantu kami dan pihak ladang untuk mendengar suara dan permintaan kami dalam melindungi hutan Ulu Belaga ini bagi keperluan masyarakat setempat dan juga untuk dinikmati oleh generasi akan datang. 

English Version: PLEASE SAVE OUR ULU BELAGA FOREST!

The forest and river areas in Ulu Belaga are the only remaining sources of pristine water and forest in the Long Urun, Belaga area, following palm oil plantation activities in this region. To this day, Tengadak, Semah, and Empurau fish can still be found in the river. In addition, this forest also provides resources such as rattan, wood, traditional medicines, and palm hearts for the local community.

Therefore, concern has arisen among the residents of Long Urun as plantation companies begin to explore the forest for large-scale palm oil plantations. Such activities would certainly disrupt the ecological balance, destroy forest resources, and ruin the natural beauty of the pristine forests in Ulu Belaga.

Therefore, we kindly request the plantation management to consider the application to refrain from developing the Ulu Belaga forest area, as the preservation of this forest aligns with broader global objectives aimed at reducing the impacts of climate change and preserving natural habitats.

By maintaining this pristine ecosystem, the Ulu Belaga forest can contribute to global efforts in carbon absorption and biodiversity preservation, thus ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.

Therefore, we request the relevant parties to help us and demand the company to hear our voices and to fulfill our request to preserve the Ulu Belaga forest  for the needs of the local community and for the enjoyment of future generations.
