In light of the inquiry into the deaths of indigenous students and the two most recent deaths of indigenous youth in Thunder Bay and given Chief Levesque's recent comment that people should be holding hands instead of pointing fingers and given that there is a pending review of the Thunder Bay Police force by the police watchdog regarding this issue, the Police Services Board Chair needs to remove Chief Levesque from his current position.  Thunder Bay is suffering from a force infected by racist attitudes and until the culture within the department is changed, these tragedies will continue.  Removing the chief and replacing him with someone with a mind towards reconciliation and equal policing until the review is completed is an immediate step that the the board can and should do.
