They parallel each other perfectly. They both confronted a disturbing secret about their biological fathers (Thomas Wayne and Jor-El). They both turn to their adopted father figures for guidance (Alfred Pennyworth and Jonathan Kent). They both become symbols of hope for their respective cities (Gotham and Metropolis).

There's a very easy way to merge them. Just make The Batman Epic Crime Saga Year 2 of Batman's career (late 2022/early 2023) and make any DCU Battinson movies set in the present day after a time skip. This will give Matt Reeves the creative freedom to explore a gritty and grounded Gotham while also giving the fans what they want to see.

I don't know if Something's in the Way, but please, James Gunn and Matt Reeves, be the Punk Rockers I know you are and merge The Batman Epic Crime Saga into The DCU!
