Hello to all my sister Tammie had a accident on July 4th 2025, she was taken to Twin County Hospital in Galax Virginia by ambulance after being in the hospital a few hours the decision was made to ship her to Wake Forrest Babtist Hospital in Winston Salem NC, for treatment and emergency surgery for a broken femur In several places, Tammie came through surgery just fine and was on a road for recovery, several days passed and the doctors wanted Tammie to go to in house rehab for physical therapy treatment, Tammie agreed to go as we all know Tammie wants to be well and walking again after some research by the nurse La it was discovered that Tammie was unable to be accepted to any rehabilitation facilities due to her past history from 22 years ago being labeled as a registered Sex Offender, not one rehabilitation center would accept her, Tammie was extremely upset and so were we. Tammie refused to leave Wake Forest Babtist Hospital until they could find a place to accept her unfortunately Tammie was told by a head nurse and case manager that two armed guards and a yellow can would be waiting for her as she had to leave the hospital because they had done there job in her treatment and there was nothing more they could do, this was hard on Tammie knowing she was being sent home with no rehab for her femur fractures. Tammie spent the first week home calling one place after another trying ti get treatment but was turned down each and every time. Tammie was able to get in home services by a local therapy provider, Tammie is striving to learn to walk again this road has not been easy on her or her family. I never knew anyone could be denied medical care because they were labeled as a registered sex offender, this seems like medical neglect, Tammie was in contact with a attorney from North Carolina Paul Dubling to report her complaints as he is well known for handling these types of crimes regarding sex offenders, his secretary made follow up check ups on Tammie but no legal action has been taken even though Tammie feels she was denied medical treatment and that is a human right. Tammie is now four weeks outta the hospital and doing well under the circumstances she still is unable to walk without walking assistance from her walker. We pray that Tammie will get a full recovery but most of all we pray that something will change with Tammie’s status as being labeled a Violent Sex Offender, Tammie has never been able to heal from the pain and hurt that this registry has done to her and her family the collateral damage is beyond repair, Tammie should have never been on a registry to begin with and she should have been advised by her attorney 22 years ago that that crime was a registrable offense. Tammie needs justice and most of all Tammie’s family needs time to heal and get back what has been taken from her, Tammie is a very strong woman and has went through things that most of us could n very go through.
