Say No to Solar Energy Farm at Stockton-on-Teme Worcestershire

Say No to Solar Energy Farm at Stockton-on-Teme Worcestershire
The Issue
Dear Friends and Family,
Please forgive us for contacting you in this impersonal way.
We have recently discovered a planning application for a 20 acre solar energy park in Stockton-on-Teme Worcestershire. This 20 acre site is located on the farm across the road and highly visible to many local and far reaching properties across the Teme Valley.
Rural Worcestershire is under a real threat from solar park developers wanting to blight the countryside with row upon row of solar panels.
We support renewable energy in the RIGHT environment, but this is not the right location, as per the government guidelines e.g. brownfield sites and rooftops, NOT in the middle of English countryside.
The site will be clearly visible from the Grade 11 eighteenth century Georgian gothic church of St Mary’s, beautifully situated on a hill overlooking Stanford, with wonderful views of the Teme Valley. If planning is approved, the church, along with all the dwellings and walkers of footpaths, will have an excellent view of nineteen thousand solar panels.
The additional infrastructure required will also impact on local properties, Public Footpaths, Bridle Paths, viewpoints and historic landmarks and the environment and wildlife and impacting on the timeless beauty of the Teme Valley.
Please spare two minutes of your time to help us respond to this very real threat and sign the petition against the solar farm. See below...........
For details of the application can be viewed at MHDC Application Number 15/01017/FUL where you can also lodge a formal complaint to the planning department.
Recently a campaign to include the Abberley Hills and The Teme Valley as areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty alongside The Malvern Hills was featured on BBC News. See link below.
