【Please raise voices against the establishment of Japan’s new security bills, which violate the state sovereignty and right to peace of all peoples in the world.】

Petition against the security related bills deliberated in the Japan Diet

We are a NGO, the Japan Committee for Right to Peace, who aims at establishment the UN declaration of right to peace.

The security related bills under debate in the Japan Diet allow the exercise of collective self-defense of the Self-defense Forces. But it violates the pacific Article 9 of Japan Constitution and the right to live in peace. The preamble of the constitution reads that “all peoples of the world have the right to live in peace, free from fear and want.” It means Japan government has to protect this rights of other countries’ people. However, exercise of collective self-defense infringes on them.

Japan has been a pacific state for 70 years restricted by Article 9 and right to live in peace. Should Japan betray Article 9, it would become a military state and make military intervention to others.

We sincerely ask you to raise voices against the establishment of Japan’s new security bills, which violate the state sovereignty and right to peace of all peoples in the world.
