Azərbaycanda çox təəssüf ki, heyvanlara qarşı agressiya və nifrət günü gündən artır. İnsanlar səbəbsiz yerə bu məsum canlılara işgəncə verir, təcavüz edir, yaşayış yerlərindən uzaqlara aparır və tərk edirlər. Bu amansızlıq xüsusilə itlərə və pişiklərə qarşı günü gündən artmaqdadır. İnstagram, Facebook kimi sosial media şəbəkələrində insanlar heyvanları öldürməyə (xüsusən də itləri), nəsillərini tükətməyi çağırış edirlər. 

Bu reallığın fonunda, Azərbaycanda heyvan haqqlarının effektiv müdafiəsini təmin edəcək qanuna ehtiyac var. Bu petisiya da belə bir qanuna çağırış üçün hazırlanıb və sonda Azərbaycan Respublikasının Prezidenti Cənab İlham Əliyevə təqdim olunacaq. Onun üçün də hər bir heyvansevər dostumuzu bu petisiyaya imza atmağa və daha çox imza toplanılması üçün sosial media kanallarında paylaşaraq   təşəbbüsə dəstək olmağa çağırırıq. 

Regrettably, the aggression towards animals in Azerbaijan has become a growing concern lately. Instances of abandonment, torture, molestation, poisoning, and senseless killing of innocent creatures are on the rise. Stray dogs and cats, in particular, are subjected to increasing cruelty. Especially these days, a critical mass of people on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, promote killing stray animals, predominantly dogs, and advocating for their absolute extermination. Unfortunately, in the backdrop of this reality, the existing legal framework in Azerbaijan is inadequate in combating violence against stray animals. 

To address this issue effectively, there is a pressing need for a comprehensive law that ensures the protection of stray animals. This petition is initiated with the specific objective of urging the adoption of such legislation, and the gathered signatures will be presented to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. We earnestly implore all compassionate individuals worldwide, who share our commitment to animal welfare, to join our call by signing the petition and sharing it widely on their social media channels to garner a critical mass of signatures.
