A quick update as DLRCOCO will be launching a new Part 8 on Thursday 6 April to redevelop the meadow in Shanganagh Park despite overwhelming community and sports club opposition and the findings of an independent report the Council themselves commissioned.

Despite weak attempts by the DLRCOCO Parks Dept to claim the plans address public concerns (they don’t but watch this if you’re in any doubt to see how these were glossed over), these latest plans have blatantly dismissed all public feedback arising from the January 2023 consultation sessions and sadly prove that these were nothing more than tick box exercises.

DLRCOCO will publish the plans on Thursday 6 April via www.dlrcoco.ie/shanganagh23 - please pay careful attention to the details regarding how to make a formal submission to register your opposition to the plans and your support for viable, sustainable alternatives supported by the community and which benefit local sports while protecting and preserving the park’s rich biodiversity. 

Submissions can be made by email, by post or in person and all submissions will be free of charge - note that the more individual submissions made the better (e.g. if your household has 4 members, each member can make a submission).
