PLEASE HELP ME GET MINE & MY SONS COMPANION DOG BACK

The issue

My name is Jess, I am a 36yo single mother, living with a life shortening illness, my son is 12yo and he has special needs. We had our companion dog taken from us, for getting in a minor fight with another dog in a neighboring property after escaping my yard injured when I was at the cancer centre. I take full responsibility of Douglas Kenneth. My dog was scared and injured, so he went into someone's yard looking for help. Looking for help is what he is trained to do, for myself and my 12yo son who has autism. He also received injury by said dog, but it was portrayed on social media with a picture of my dog as if the blood covering him was the other dogs!

They threatened to shoot him! But I was the one told they had to take him away to "make it look like they've done something about the incident, because of the reaction on social media." So they want to take a much loved, much needed pet away from us over a couple of mm depth. After family violence, he was the one who laid by my side and listened for noises as I slept. He was the one who comforted my special needs boy through his medical treatment and bullying.

I can confirm that the dog only had minor injuries, with 1 laceration just slightly large enough by a few mm to lead him to his doom. While I DO NOT condone dogs in other peoples yards, there are no pics of the other guy at all, funny that! Doug got more injuries than it did and he still only has puppy teeth at 2yo..
Why can professionals pick and choose which part of the protocol they use, why should I be intentionally intimidated by the same person sitting on his phone & laughing through the interview, still not conducting himself professionally after contradicting himself. Same defensiveness from a member higher up. I have a disability, they knew that and they did not care to address me for who I am or work with me to come to a reasonable agreement, just pressuring me to sign a surrender form. Why are we 2nd class citizens, why is it ok for the government to intimidate vulnerable people? Everyone needs to take accountability.
If I thought that Doug was anything but a smart, boisterous, energetic puppy. I would happily surrender him, but he's not and I won't.

I have lost 2 uncles this year, one of my parents has metastatic cancer, now my baby is gone too. My children will also lose their mum. Please, I am begging for your help to get him home. I am facing charges that I may not even be alive to face. If I thought for 1 minute that he was at risk of hurting someone or something, I would happily surrender him. I have had a dog like that whilst I was growing up and I know what that looks like, Doug is not that! No one had disclosed any past incidents to me at this time.

We have been crying for over a week, I appealed to the people in control and they didn't even care, met with rudeness, intimidation & dismissive behavior. Bulldogs need to be around their people, or they can fret to the point of death.  One mistake is going to cost him his life, it is not right. The whole thing is fishy.

Please help give me a voice!
