It took 9 years for Pikmin 3 to finally come around after the release of Pikmin 2 for the GameCube in 2004, so much so that people praised to not wait that long for Pikmin 4. Sadly the wait was one year more, between then came a non-main game for the 3DS, a Switch Port of Pikmin 3 and a Pikmin game for mobile devices. I guess it could be because of something called development hell, let's hope that the same thing won't happen with Pikmin 5, whenever that comes around in fact should be no later then 2030.
