Dear all petition signers,
The Health Center zoning bill was approved by the City Council on 6/13/2024 and we declared victory. The mission of this petition is accomplished! Therefore, NEPCA will close this petition today. Congratulations to all participants fighting for the new Health Center.
In summary, 395 people signed this online petition, and 543 signed the hardcopy version, a total of 938 signatures. In addition, other partners assisted 400 people sending postcards to the City Council; a total of 1338 people loudly supported the new health center at the Friends Hospital site.
After seven months of community assessments, the Philadelphia City Council body finally voted to pass the Health Center zoning bill on 6/13/2024, officially approving the construction of the new Health Center at Friends Hospital at 4641 Roosevelt Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19124. This is one of the best things the City offers its people.
The new health center at the Friends Hospital site will serve 30,000 patient visits per year. Many families will be able to afford healthcare. It is a great good deed to all who contributed their efforts to make it happen. I want to thank everyone who signed this petition and the individuals, organizations, and businesses promoting it behind the scenes.
We are grateful for partners supporting the new health center coalition who make efforts to attend community meetings, speak at City Council, and talk to the press.
Fighting together for this great cause in the spirit of unity is a memorable experience. The compassion and persistence of ordinary people as well as community leaders are beautiful qualities that we have witness. I am so proud to work with you all.
