Today, we appeared before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, surrounded by close friends and supporters who believe in our future in Australia.
We remain hopeful that the Tribunal will recognise the significant value we bring to this country and will agree that our contributions far outweigh any perceived costs.

We also sought to challenge the policy cost threshold of $86,000 — a figure we believe is arbitrary, especially given that Jessica receives her medical treatment under the Reciprocal Health Care Agreement between Australia and the UK. This is the same arrangement that benefits Australians residing in the UK.

Our next step is to respectfully request that Minister Tony Burke consider using his discretionary powers to personally intervene in our case.
We are a committed, hardworking couple who consider Australia our home and community. We believe we have proven our dedication and value to this country in both our personal and professional lives.

''Rob is a highly skilled carpenter and rigger who runs his own business – O’Leary Cranes and Construction. His work supports the Australian construction industry and provides employment and services within the community.
Jessica is a whirlwind of energy and dedication. She works at a law firm, occasionally supports families as a nanny, DJs part-time, and devotes herself tirelessly to charity and advocacy, especially around multiple sclerosis awareness.''

“Jess and Rob are perfect examples of what Australia needs – a young couple who have a lot of potential, already have contributed to Australia in so many ways over the last eight years,” their lawyer Marial Lewis from Crossover Law Group told NewsWire.''

We are currently on bridging visas, which are set to expire in approximately a month.
We remain hopeful for a fair outcome — one that recognises not just the policy, but the people behind it.
