Dear Wegmans Leadership,

We are residents of Chestnut Hill and the surrounding neighborhoods and long-time customers of Wegmans. We are deeply concerned about the planned closure of the Wegmans Pharmacy at the Chestnut Hill location (at 200 Boylston Street, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467) scheduled for mid-April.

Many in our neighborhood depend on convenient access to pharmacy services. With the Wegmans pharmacy gone, the primary nearby alternative will be CVS Pharmacy whose two pharmacy locations in Chestnut Hill are already overburdened with long wait times. The pharmacy at Wegmans Chestnut Hill that opened its doors in 2014 has consistently provided a real alternative and has served as both a reliable healthcare resource and a convenient one-stop location for residents coordinating prescriptions with other errands such as grocery shopping. The staff has always been very courteous and professional and we think the closure of the pharmacy will adversely affect the attractiveness of this Wegmans store to neighborhood shoppers.

We respectfully request that Wegmans reconsider this closure to preserve meaningful pharmacy access for Chestnut Hill residents. Wegmans’ longstanding commitment to customer care and community well-being suggests that solutions grounded in local needs are possible. Thank you for your careful consideration.
