My name is Lillyan Susko. I am a 9-year-old with Type 1 Diabetes who wants a diabetic Build-A-Bear, just like me.

I was diagnosed with this incurable disease at age 3 and I hope we can get a diabetic Build-A-Bear so that all diabetic children like me can relate to our toys. Creating a Build-A-Bear is personal. We get to choose what our bear looks like and wears, and even make the bear look like us, but right now there is no option to create a diabetic Build-A-Bear.

Our teddy bears become our furry friends and are a source of comfort. I want one that understands me. This diabetic bear could come with a toy insulin pump, insulin shots, or maybe even a finger pricker with a toy meter -- everything a diabetic child would use.
