UPDATE OCTOBER 22, 2023:
It is a year ago today that Andrew abruptly left P.E.I. and went to Halifax, N.S. Then in January 2023, we discovered that Andrew was in Moncton, N.B. We drove to Moncton and pleaded with Andrew to come home and he refused. There was nothing we could do.
We had to leave our son not knowing if or when we would ever see him again. We filed a Form 2 in Moncton but were denied. Shortly after, we learned that Andrew got a flight to Toronto using his VISA card.
I have mentioned previously that Andrew was a National Youth Gold Medal Bowling Champion twice. Andrew developed many friendships not only at the Basilica Recreation Centre in Charlottetown, but all across Canada. His coach, Rickey Burns, travelled with Andrew to many tournaments. Andrew played 5 pin bowling where the perfect game is 450. Andrew played a PERFECT GAME. He represented P.E.I. as the Provincial Champion many times.
Ten-pin bowling is a competitive sport. It requires many, many hours of practice to become a champion. The goal involves bowlers to roll a bowling ball down a wooden lane known an an alley, knocking down all 10 pins, lined in a triangular shape. Some are lined behind each other. There are 10 frames, and each player gets two turns per frame to clear all the pins.
The objective is to knock down all ten pins on the first roll of the ball (a strike) or failing that on the second roll (a spare).
I would like to draw an analogy between bowling and Andrew's situation by using bowling definitions. I am assuming the position of Team Captain, which is a lead member creditworthy for all participants being present and influencing team lineup.
The first definition is ALL THE WAY. This means finishing a game with only STRIKES. As you know I have been throwing balls for the past year trying to bring Andrew home to P.E.I. I have had some strikes along the way, being granted Form 2 applications. A strike is getting all 10 pins knocked down. I have yet to be successful on the final strike which is getting Andrew medically transferred home to P.E.I.
During the past year there have been CLUTCH pressured situations. This included filing Form 2 applications in Moncton, Hamilton and Toronto four times. I do not wish to CHOKE failing to achieve the target being the goal to have Andrew remain in Humber Hospital until he is stabilized enough to transfer to P.E.I.
The DELIVERY, preparation, release and follow-through included a comprehensive chronological collateral information document, which assisted the Justice of the Peace, Toronto Police and Humber River Hospital psychiatrists. This evidence was gathered from hundreds of people who were responding to my Facebook posts.
We did not have a FIVE BAGGER, five strikes in a row, but we did have four successful Form 2's and three successful admittances to hospital including Humber River and St. Joseph's.
We also had a GUTTER BALL, a ball that goes into the gutter. This happened at CAMH when the psychiatrist refused admittance and released Andrew at 1:00am in the darkness and pouring rain.
In addition we had a KICKOFF, smooth ball delivery at Humber River Hospital which is now HOME ALLEY, favourite lane for participants/ patients, namely Andrew.
The LINE, route a bowling ball takes, has been going perfectly so far. We filed the Form 2. We got the sightings. Andrew was apprehended and taken to the Humber River Hospital and admitted on October 10, 2023.
We never want to be in the MOAT which is a nickname for the gutter. I am referring to the medical transfer in this regard.
NEVER UP, NEVER IN, is an idea/philosophy which states that if a bowler wants to make a strike, he/she must first hit the headpin. Andrew hit the headpin by showing severe signs of deterioration and ANOSOGNOSIA. Andrew had a NOSE HIT and was admitted to hospital.
We do not want the bowling ball to be OUT OF BOUNDS, which is an area on the lanes where a ball won't make it to the pocket. We must get the medical transfer to P.E.I.
POWERHOUSE is a strong ball that strikes. I am hoping that my advocacy for Andrew has been the strong ball to help save our son's life. I also hope that Andrew's story will raise much mental health awareness and help others suffering from this terrible illness.
Our goal is a QUALITY SHOT, a shot where absolutely everything (approach, release etc.) come together at perfect timing with balance. I believe God has a perfect timing for the medical transfer to happen. We do not want a RAP when a single pin is left behind on a good hit, meaning the medical transfer.
We want a SIX PACK with 6 strikes in a row including the admittance to Humber River, medical transfer and admittance to Hillsbourgh Hospital P.E.I. This is a called a SLIDE, the last step of delivery.
We could use a SNOW PLOW which is a ball that knocks down all the pins to Andrew's recovery. In fact, we could use a SPLASHER which is a strike where the pins are knocked down rapidly.
At no time do we want a GUTTER BALL. This is a ball that goes into the gutter with no positive results. Again I am referring to the prospective medical transfer to P.E.I.
I will be cheering for a STRIKE OUT which is getting all 3 strikes in the 10th frame. Even a STRING with three or more strikes in a row would be great. We really appreciate Dr. Emily Donaldson and Daniel Tziatis, Medical Director Mental Health and Addictions at the Humber River Hospital. These are our two professional strikes!
We need a THREE HUNDRED GAME which is a perfect game of 12 strikes in a row. This includes the final stages of medical transfer and hospitalization in P.E.I. Even a TURKEY would be good with three strikes in a row or an UMBRELLA BALL that results in a perfect strike.
The goal is to achieve an XXX'ed OUT game. This is the action of completing the game with all the strikes from a given point in the game. This would bring to fruition the year that we have endeavoured to help our son by getting him hospitalized in Ontario, and bringing Andrew home to P.E.I to recover.
The XXX'ed OUT game also includes the people who sent hundreds of photos with date, time and location. Also the people who sent posts of encouragement, support, gifts and hospitality. Also I wish to thank ANDREW'S ARMY OF ANGELS for working behind the scenes to assist me. There are too many to mention.
We need to ZONE/IN by lining up the groove, powerful and consistent. This was achieved by the thousands of Ontario residents who assisted Andrew with food, water, money and clothing since January 2023. You helped our son survive on the streets of Ontario in heat waves, cold temperatures and pouring rain. People even now, are contacting me offering assistance.
The PLEASE BRING ANDREW BRYENTON HOME TO P.EI. PETITION has 10811 signatures from caring and compassionate Ontario and P.E.I. residents. Here is the link: https://chng.it/TMKMZfHH2p It is fast and free.
In spite of the recent chaos, my song, God Will Take Care of You, continues to play in my head. Here is the link:

HERE IS A VIDEO GLIMPSE OF ANDREW. HE WAS MENTALLY ILL AT THE TIME BUT NOT TO THIS DEGREE.
A lady sent this video blog of Andrew to me. I was not aware the video existed. It will give you a glimpse of Andrew, when he was relatively well. It was titled, "The Best Running Shoes."

Another lady sent the following message, "It is so powerful how a loving community can move its members for an altruistic reason."
Andrew is doing well taking his medications orally. He mostly stays in his private room, but in the evening he comes out for a stroll in the unit hallways. The nurses say he is very polite and enjoys his meals.
Please continue to pray that Andrew receives a medical transfer to P.E.I.
