As we informed you in our last update, UNITED Against Dog-Fighting has been helping with an abuse case in Kentucky which involved the euthanization of a dog named Fiona and her newborn puppies; and the prevention of further euthanization of the dogs owned by the criminal Chris Pope. The County Judge Executive, Jim Adams, who controls the animal shelter where the euthanization of Fiona and her babies took place, and who gave the order to do so even though rescue groups had offered to take them all, has just halted all rescues and transports from the animal shelter! This means that the lives of all the animals currently housed in the shelter are in immediate danger of being euthanized. His actions have resulted in straight adoption as being the only way left to save them. This also means that rescue groups and transporters can no longer come in and take the animals to the veterinarian for shots, spays/neuters, or medical treatment. It all must be done by the shelter workers, only after an adoption fee has been paid by an adopter. This basically means that not only are these animals at risk of being euthanized, but those in need of medical attention will NOT have access to it! This latest action by Executive Judge Jim Adams is being viewed by some of the rescue groups that have been involved with rescuing from this shelter as a retaliatory move against them for alerting the media regarding his orders to euthanize Fiona and her puppies. Unfortunately, the ones being hurt the most by this latest move is none other than the innocent animals housed in the shelter! It appears that the “good ole boy” network is alive and well in Kentucky! Corruption at its finest here, folks! Judge Adams obviously has no regard for the lives of any of the animals under his care at the Lincoln County Animal Shelter! UNITED Against Dog-Fighting has pledged to help the animals by sponsoring as many of their adoption fees as funding will allow. We cannot not, in good faith, allow these animals to be euthanized if there is any way at all we can help them! We wanted to give you this update to inform you of how your donations are being utilized. Thank you so much for your support…past, present, and future!
