Hello everyone. We want to give you an update on our latest actions and inform you of a tragedy that occurred this week in KY. Please go to our Facebook Group, UNITED Against Dog-Fighting (closed group) if you are already a member, or wish to become a member - or our page, UNITED Against Dog-Fighting Public Page for all the details. (Links to those 2 sites are included below.) There you will be able to read about our activities to date .
We’re all heartbroken this week by something that occurred here in KY. This senseless tragedy happed because of our poor (the worst in the nation) animal protection legislation. In summary, an innocent dog, Fiona, gave birth to 8 puppies this past weekend. She and the puppies were denied any care at the shelter where she was being held, though she was in obvious distress. All the puppies either died, or were euthanized along with their mother, Fiona, on Monday. You’ll find all the details on either of our Facebook sites, or on another Facebook Site, Fiona’s Legacy. We’re fighting along with Fiona’s Legacy for the release of 11 more dogs, including 1 pregnant female, 6 puppies and 4 more adult dogs, to a rescue group who has agreed to take all the dogs and provide care for them at their own expense. This rescue group has an excellent record of finding loving homes for this breed and we’re grateful for their dedication and hard work in this case. These dogs are being held in the Boyle County, KY animal shelter where another of the puppies has already died. Please check out the sites below for all the information and how you can get involved in the fight to save these dogs.
Thanks again for all you continue to do to make our world a more humane one for the animals. The world would be a much sadder place without the unconditional love they give to humans. We hope you will continue to support our efforts to not only change KY’s dog-fighting laws, but also to work towards bringing KY’s animal protection legislation at least up to the standards enforced in other parts of the nation. Any donation large or small helps us in our fight! Thank YOU!
