My name is [INSERT NAME] and I believe tattooers are technicians as much as they are artists and ready to expand on the safe practices to which we already adhere. I say this as a [Professional Tattooer/Client/Family Member- make it personal, tell your story] and someone who cares deeply about the well-being of ALL my neighbors.
Professionals in the tattoo industry are licensed and trained in current health and safety standards including cross contamination and blood borne pathogens. They are able to safely limit the number of clients in their establishments and allow for proper social distancing. The tattoo industry should now be allowed to open back up their businesses and expand on already safe practices and expanded use of PPE.
These individuals need to return to work to provide for themselves and their families. Many small business owners are in jeopardy of losing their livelihoods they worked so hard to achieve and maintain through a long career of hard and honest work. Please allow tattoo professionals to return to work to provide for their families and to help rebuild our economy.
Thank you Governor Newsom for doing a great job at keeping Californians safe during these unprecedented times. As an industry, I believe tattooers can get back to their craft and meet this moment to keep public health as a top priority.
