Plea To Recover 4000 Missing Political Workers From Karachi
0 have signed. Let’s get to 2,500!
Since 1988, the city of Karachi is under unannounced martial
law, where army is doing everything to curb democracy from taking roots. For decades, Pakistan has been fighting a war against Islamic terrorism and MQM is the only secular political party that has been vocal against this menace of religious extremism and Taliban. As a result, MQM workers and now their families have been killed, harassed and threatened by these
elements that have deep support within the government.
4000 MQM Political Workers and their family members are missing. They have been picked up from their homes and their offices in broad daylight during unauthorized and illegal raids without any warrants by Pakistani Army and they are, if not killed, being held in undisclosed locations without access to any legal help. More than often, these workers are the breadwinners in the family and their disappearance also leaves the family too poor and too broke for food and shelter.
We are urgently appealing to Amnesty International and other international bodies to provide any moral, political or legal help for their safe release and return.
Please sign this petition for their safe return.
